most people are way more ambitious than is good for us. so, most of us carry that over into our yoga practice. on the mat, that trait can be dangerous. case in point: your body is different from mine; it's different from your neighbors and it's different from the person sitting next to you on the bus. knowing this, there's no reason to believe that your body will look the same as mine when you do the poses I demonstrate. your job is to do as much as you can WITHOUT SHARP PAIN on any given day. if the pose is easy, work harder or email me for a more advanced variation. if it hurts, you're working too hard and need to give yourself a break. if that ambitious mind still isn't satisfied, then I'll throw you a bone: you'll make the speediest progress (you'll get "better" at the poses and your body will change) by practicing in that zone between comfort and pain.
remember: TAKE IT EASY!
